OUR STORY
Formerly a century-old auto parts and repair shop, the building at 4253 Division Ave is now home to The Stray, an eccentric music and arts café that’s become a vibrant community gathering space in the Home Acres neighborhood.
Designed by artist Karen VanKlompenberg, The Stray blends the character of its historic industrial roots with a warm, creative atmosphere; part performance venue, part neighborhood café, and part gallery; where artists, musicians, and neighbors can connect, collaborate, and feel at home.
The VanKlompenberg family started The Stray in 2021 and it has grown to a team of around 20 people, serving Wyoming, Kentwood, and Grand Rapids with standout concerts, a welcoming environment and the best cup of coffee this side of the big lake.
